CultureBound for...

Academics

Through CultureBound Academic, we partner with a variety of for-credit academic institutions, to train and teach your students how to understand and work with other cultures. We adjust our lectures, PowerPoints, and reading material to fit with each of our partner organizations’ needs. Some CultureBound coursework is available in Spanish as well as English.

Adults

LanguageCourse — Learning and using a new language is all about relationships — with God and with your new neighbors. LanguageCourse mixes knowing your own best learning style with skill building in pronunciation, self-directed learning, the social context of language, and working with language helpers.

CultureCourse — Building healthy relationships with people from a culture different than your own requires a special set of attitudes, insights, and skills. CultureCourse will lead you in how to build those skills. Specific areas include biblical foundations of culture, skill in observation and interviews, cultural analysis, and intercultural communication.

Business

Business runs on relationships: vendors, clients, subcontractors and many others. Those networks often unite people from a variety of diverse backgrounds. CultureBound for Business will help you strengthen the cross-cultural relationships that are essential to the health of your business ventures. We design the right mix of attitude, knowledge and skill to meet the unique needs of your business relationships.

Children

CultureBound’s Children’sCourse is Inside the Toolbox and is designed to prepare children ages 4 – 12 for life in a new culture. Through biblically-based training, fun activities, field trips, devotionals, crafts, and testimonies from other kids who have lived overseas, children will gain the tools and understanding of how to be proactive about learning and respecting a new language and culture. The Children’sCourse parallels CultureBound’s adult CultureCourse and LanguageCourse onsite trainings.

Churches

Jesus’ church includes people from every tribe, tongue, nation and people, and yet as the people of God we are often separated and divided from one another. CultureBound for Churches is designed to help local churches or denominations develop the attitudes, knowledge, skills and relational wisdom they need to cross divisions of culture and language.

Parents

Parent’sCourse is a one-day interactive seminar designed to equip and encourage parents who are moving overseas with their children. Topics include and explore leaving and grieving as a family, prevention of common Third Culture Kid [TCK] challenges, maximizing the benefits of the TCK experience, and language and culture-learning as a family.

Short-Term Teams

Cultural Awareness for Short-Term Teams — CAST, is a 3-hour workshop held at your location to prepare teams of youth and adults to effectively serve people from a different culture. We believe that teams don’t need to leave their own country to encounter different cultures, and thus provide CAST training for teams both traveling inside and outside their homeland.

Teens

Expedition is our Teen’sCourse and is designed to prepare teens ages 13 – 17 for life in a new culture. The training is biblically-based and combines elements of language acquisition, culture learning, and cultural preparation.

Third-Culture Kids

Our mission is to provide globally mobile families and their sending organizations with excellent support, training, and resources. We offer a variety of trainings and workshops, curriculum and consulting for organizations who want to begin or enhance their Third Culture Kids (TCK) program, and online resources designed to give practical skills, personal insight, and encouragement to parents of TCKs and those who work with TCKs.
