Dear Friends of CultureBound,

This edition of our CultureBound magazine explores the fascinating intersection where short-term mission crosses relationship — CultureBound for Short-Term Teams.

.

It is a very natural topic for CultureBound — we are all about mission (short term or long term) and at our core is the reality that the essential thing about life and mission is relationship.
.
CultureBound’s short course, “CAST” (Cultural Awareness for Short-Term Teams), is a great introduction to help teams recognize the patterns of relationship they’ll come across.
.
And now, more than ever, our work is bringing us alongside churches across the US who are engaging in more and more short-term mission opportunities. And, they are discovering that understanding and being effective when working in another culture can be a challenge for their team members.
.
One team member recently shared that, “Learning how to be a student of the new culture and how to genuinely be observant, seeing, hearing . . . using all of our senses to understand how they communicate is vital. And, how to be in relationship and loving rather than judgmental.”
.
Does your church need this valuable training for short-term teams? We know that many of you have been actively involved in short-term mission work and understand the importance of cultural training.
.
At CultureBound, we depend on you and so appreciate your financial support, but also your active participation in encouraging others to engage in our training as well.
.
Kindly share this publication with friends and family as a sample of the CultureBound training we can provide your church or faith community’s short-term team activities. Now is the perfect time to be prepared for next summer’s trips and it’s provided online while we continue safe distancing.
.
And, this month we are thankful for your contribution that allows us to provide training to churches and teams who have limited financial capacity, but huge desire to build relationships through short-term mission work.
.
Godspeed.
